Alpha: the Beginning

קַדְמוֹן לְכָל דָּבָר אֲשֶׁר נִבְרָא

The Beginning

In the beginning, there was only God, but the promise was there. The ultimate goal was given. God was also the Last, even when He was only the First. Both books relate how even before the universe had been created, God’s spirit was moving over, was enthroned above the waters.

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending,” saith the Lord, “which is, and which was and which is to come...” ^{Revelations 1:8}

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.^{Genesis 1:2}

He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Hidden. ^{57 Iron, 3}

…and His Throne was over the waters.^{11 Hud, 7}
